Servers, Infrastructure & Managed ICT

Compute, storage and switching sit behind the LAN. Managed ICT is the ongoing administration of that estate — patching, monitoring, backup verification and agreed response — so that the installer remains the operator where the organisation wants that.

How a typical infrastructure engagement runs

  1. 01

    Agree capacity and recovery

Workload, who administers the estate, and recovery objectives are written down before hardware is ordered.

  2. 02

    Build and hand over

Servers, storage and switching are installed and documented. Credentials are handled through Verico Clientzone, not this website.

  3. 03

    Operate where contracted

Monitoring, patching and after-hours call-out apply only where the service agreement says so.

Hardware without an operator is only a room full of noise

Servers that were installed and then left, backups that were never restored, and patching that happens “when someone remembers” are how estates drift. Verico will quote a build, a managed service, or both. Response times and after-hours cover apply only where the service agreement says so — they are not implied by this page.

  • Undocumented builds

Credentials and configuration that never left the installer’s laptop cannot be operated by the next person.

  • Backups that were never restored

A backup target without a restore test is a hope, not a recovery plan.

  • Patching without a window

Unagreed change is how production outages are created. Windows and change control are part of managed ICT.

Where servers sit relative to cabling and the LAN

The equipment room is only as operable as the plant and the LAN in front of it. Structured cabling, cabinet layout and core switching are the path to the hypervisor, directory and file services. Verico builds those layers to a brief: capacity, recovery objectives and who may administer the estate are agreed before hardware is ordered.

Managed ICT is optional and contractual. Monitoring, patching and after-hours call-out are not included by installing a server. Incidents for contracted sites are logged in Verico Clientzone (Support / Helpdesk). Credentials are not issued through the public website.

Build the estate, then operate it if contracted

  • Server and hypervisor builds

Physical or virtual servers sized to the workload, with documentation and an asset inventory at handover.

  • Storage and backup

Backup design and restore testing as scoped — restore tests are part of the work, not an assumed extra.

  • Core switching handoff

VLAN and firewall handoff so that servers are not dropped onto an undocumented LAN.

  • Directory and file services

Included where they are in scope for the site, not as a default package.

  • Patch windows

Agreed change control so that firmware and system patches are not surprise outages.

  • Written service levels

Response and coverage are those in the quotation. This website does not publish a standard SLA.

What handover includes

  • Asset inventory of in-scope hardware
  • Build notes sufficient to rebuild the agreed services
  • Backup and restore evidence where backup was in scope
  • Administrative access via Verico Clientzone for contracted estates

Multi-site environments

Standard builds and a shared operations process can be applied across branches, with local hardware remaining at each site unless the organisation has centralised the workload.

Common questions

Scope, handover and what is not implied by this page.

Does installing a server include monitoring?

No. Monitoring, patching and after-hours cover are defined in the service agreement. A project handover and a managed service are quoted as what they are.

Where are credentials issued?

Through Verico Clientzone for contracted estates, not through the public website or the contact form.

Do you publish a standard SLA on this site?

No. Service levels are those written in the quotation for that estate.
