CCTV & Surveillance
IP video is designed for a usable record: camera placement, storage, retention and who may view live or recorded footage are specified before installation — not left as an unmanaged collection of recorders.

How a typical CCTV engagement runs
01
Specify coverage and retention
Areas, lighting, days of storage and who may view footage are agreed before a bill of materials is written.
02
Install on the plant
Cameras, cabling, PoE and recorders are installed with segmentation where the LAN allows it.
03
Operate
Recorder health, camera offline alerts and firmware can be included in managed support. Viewing rights are reviewed so they stay least-privilege.
Cameras, storage and a network that can carry them
Placement and lenses
Coverage and lighting drive camera and lens selection against the brief, not a standard pack of units.
Cabling and PoE
Runs, switch budget and cabinet layout treated as part of the same ICT plant as the LAN.
Recorders and VMS
NVR or video-management software sized to camera count, bitrate and retention days.
Retention and backup
How long footage is kept, and whether a copy is required, written down before hardware is ordered.
Viewing rights
Remote viewing with least-privilege accounts — not a shared password on a sticker.
Camera VLAN
Cameras placed on a dedicated VLAN where the LAN design allows it.
Platforms already encountered
Sites Verico works on already include Axis, Hikvision and Dahua cameras. Those names describe platforms in use, not a default for every quotation. Selection follows the brief.
Multi-site environments
Viewing and retention policy can be standardised, with local storage at each site or a central VMS, according to bandwidth and the organisation’s operating model.
Related capabilities
These are quoted separately unless the brief asks for a combined design. They sit on the same ICT estate.

Common questions
Scope, handover and what is not implied by this page.
How is retention decided?
Days of storage, bitrate and camera count drive recorder and disk sizing. Retention is a design input, not a number published as a product promise on this page.
Can existing cameras be kept?
Sometimes. Compatibility with the recorder or VMS, PoE budget and image quality against the brief are checked before replacement is recommended.
